Constance E. Smith, DDS
After earning her Bachelor of Science in biology from Hillsdale College, Dr. Smith graduated dental school at the University of Michigan. She opened her practice in Jackson in 1993. She strives to improve her knowledge base by attending continuing education courses on an annual basis on a broad range of studies, including restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Smith has received advanced training at the Center for Esthetic Excellence in Chicago and at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. She has also completed forensic coursework at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC and the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s office. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association. As a dentist, her goal is to create a compassionate and caring environment for her patients and to support and empower them to achieve dental health.
Dr. Smith is dedicated to her family. Away from the office she enjoys traveling, teaching meditation and playing pickle ball.

I was introduced to a career in dental hygiene through a dedicated teacher at the Calhoun Area Career Center in Battle Creek. I was drawn to this profession because I value being able to create meaningful relationships with patients that continue to build with each visit. My goal is for my patients to be relaxed and fully informed about their oral health.
Outside of the office, I love spending time with family, including my four nephews and two nieces. Also, my family has adopted and fostered retired racing greyhounds for years, and that remains a large part of my life.

Alexis Hart was born and raised in Bellevue, MI. She recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Biology with honor of Summa Cum Laude at Olivet College. Alexis has participated in numerous college sponsored humanitarian initiatives, including a recent trip to Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, to provide disaster relief to those who were impacted by Hurricane Maria. For fun, Alexis enjoys to workout at the gym, ride horses and complete craft projects. One of her recent endeavors included sculpting a molar from cast plaster. Her love for visual arts compliments her passion for dentistry and she hopes to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Constance E. Smith and go to dental school. Alexis is eager to be a part of Dr. Smith and her team that is dedicated to providing compassion and quality care to their patients.
